I found something on the Internet - Radiohead x Amp live

Here a new category. I want to benefit from my addiction to the Internet by showing you the things that I'have found in the world wide web...

I'm gonna start with a remix by amp live of the Radiohead album In Rainbows which is unfortunately no longer available as a free download.
But nonetheless their distribution mode and the exposure to their rights as authors is trend-setting as you can see by how it started it and how they worked it out (amp live version).
This is only possible thanks to the Internet. This is precious and I think we are on the right path.

Long live the Internet!

Download Bordeaux

If you like good wine -maybe a Bordeaux- and you are in Hamburg for example you don't have to change your location. I highly recommend this:

Chain of command

A police academy in Iraq build by a multinational where the piss trickles from the ceiling. Everyone who saw the first episode of the first season of "The Wire" know maybe this "proverb": Piss trickles, shit rolls down the chain of command.
Obviously they took it too literally...

Parodie of the Tom Cruise Video by Jerry O'Connell

Here a funny "remake" of the Tom Cruise "publicity"
for Scientology.

Students in debt

Thats not a system in which I want to live!
Education should be as good and as cheap as possible, so everyone has a chance to study.
Otherwise we'll end up in a new feudalism; in a society including insurmountable social gaps...

Something frightening?

Tom Cruise is obviously completely mad.

Read this:
"When you're a Scientologist, and you drive by an accident, you know you have to do something about it, because you know you're the only one who can really help. We are the authorities on getting people off drugs. We are the authorities on the mind.... We are the way to happiness. We can bring peace and unite cultures. Now is the time. Being a Scientologist. People are turning to you. If you are a Scientologist, you see things the way they are, in all their glory, in all their complexity... It's rough and tumble. It's wild and woolly. It's a blast. It really is. It is fun. Because damn it, there is nothing better than going out there and fighting the fight, and suddenly you see -- boom! -- things are better. I want to know that I've done everything I can do, every day... I do what I can. And I do it the way I do everything." (Source)

Bordeaux at it's best ... 01

This shall be the beginning of a the small series called "Bordeaux at it's best ..."

In the first episode we will take a closer look at a small species who is living on the other Riverside (seen from my house) in Bordeaux. The Nutria/Le Ragondin/Die Biberratte...
Her a very slimy Nutria filmed by Billy in Bordeaux. In some way it is droll.

And another video by Billy. I'll name it: The Gang.

BONNE ANNÉE

Happy new year from me to anybody who is visiting this website (Alttlate-iknow...).

Video - Demonstration 06/12/07

Here some impressions of a demonstration against the reformation of the academic system in Bordeaux. They like to make noise here in France.

Homophobia and sexism in German HipHop

An article on Telepolis about homophobia and sexism in German HipHop and how it's linked to the roles of women and men in our society. Interesting issue!

HamburgerKino - Kabaret Trailer 2006

Here the trailer I've made in 2006 for the HamburgerKino Kabaret. Of course with the help of a lot of nice guys!

Road sign

Here a nice contradictory road sign on the way from the campus to the downtown. If you are driving on the rails of the tramway you may have to pay 130 €. Cyclists are at the end of the food chain here in Bordeaux... (Merci à Jim pour la photo)

La fin du blocage

The 'blocage' was stopped because of a ballot. This 'blocage' thing is all about the application of a reform to the academic system in France. That's why the vote included two questions:
1. Application of the law: Yes or No
2. Stopping the 'blocage': Yes or No

Here the result:

  • Pour la loi LRU : 671 (soit 21,5%)
  • Contre la loi LRU : 2456 (soit 78,5%)
  • Pour le blocage : 1349 (soit 42.7%)
  • Contre le blocage : 1808 (soit 57.3%)
A big majority is against the reform and a small majority against the 'blocage'.
The president of the university is accepting the vote against the 'blocage' but not against the reform that is that he will call the police if there would be any attempts to block the university. And this has happened already. On the whole that means more political actions will take place on the campus.

Students standing in line for the ballot:

Le travail de Bruno - Brunos work

This is a short documentary film we (a group of students) have made in a "cinéma" course. This version is almost finished. The titles are missing in parts and we have to overwork the sound. When I get the final version I will update this message. Anyway the film is for French speaking people.

Le blocage

In the last three weeks the university "Bordeaux 3" was blocked. This means that no course, no seminar and no tutorial took place. Too bad...:)
I took a few pictures to give you a glance of the French resistance and protest culture:

This is the site were the plenum takes place:

And here is the building in which I'm studying if there is no strike. In the entrance is sitting a strike guard looking for strikebreakers.

Sorry the view is rotated. I don't know how to change it...

Home sweet home

Today I felt for the first time at home. Like nothing has changed. I've been to IKEA...
